Skid Steer Loader Training

Course Description:
This program is designed to provide the skid steer operator with an understanding and awareness of skid steer operations and hazards. This course consists of classroom study (course manual provided), a written exam, video presentation, on-site hazard assessment, equipment inspection and a "hands on" performance evaluation of each operator. A written test, a hands-on performance evaluation and a photo identification “Certificate of Completion” wallet card will be given to each participant upon successful completion of this course. This card is not a Hoisting License. Employers will receive a roster list and course evaluation forms. This class is not a Hoisting License class. If a Hoisting License is required, you must apply for the Hoisting License and attend the hoisting license exam through the state to which you operate a skid steer loader. Topics to be discussed: - Responsibilities of the Skid Steer Operator; - Job site evaluation; - Equipment inspection; - Hazard recognitions; - Most serious skid steer loader accidents; - Skid Steer Loader stability; - Preventing roll-overs; and more …….. Minimum Class Size: 5 students Maximum Class Size: 12 students Time: Approximately 4 Hours (depending on class size) Cost: Call for Pricing **Must have equipment (skid steer loader) on site for the hands-on training portion of this course.
All classes are taught in English.
Course Objectives:Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Understand technical and stability aspects of a skid steer loader operations.
  • Understand how to identify work place Hazards.
  • Causes of skid steer loader accidents.
  • Demonstrate how to conduct a job site inspection.
  • Demonstrate how to conduct an equipment safety inspection.
  • Understand Start-up and Shut-down procedures.
  • Understand entering and exiting procedures of the skid steer load to avoid injuries.
  • Demonstrate through a written exam and "hands on" training, an understanding of the safe operations of a Skid Steer Loader.

Course Materials Provided: - Skid Steer Loader Safety Handbook. - Pre-operational skid steer loader inspection checklist. - Laminated Photo ID Certificate of Training Wallet Card. Construction & General Industry.
NOTE: Some States require that you have a hoisting license in order to operate a Skid Steer Loader. This includes needing one for training as well. Before operating any equipment, it is up to the operator of the equipment to check with their state to see if a Hoisting License is required. Hoisting Licenses are obtained through the State.
